At the Passage House Hotel, we are fortunate to be located just a few miles from some of the most stunning landscapes within the UK. To the east, we are within a short drive of the Jurassic Coast and the beaches of Teignmouth, Dawlish and Torbay. To the west lies Dartmoor National Park, one of England’s most spectacular, unspoiled landscapes. Covering nearly 400 square miles, Dartmoor is located in the South West of England. Dartmoor is made of pure natural rugged beauty including granite tors, wild rivers,wooded valleys and wide open spaces.  One of the most wonderful things about Dartmoor is the wildlife. You will find Wild horses, rams, sheep, cows, foxes, buzzards and much more…who wander and roam over the moorland. There is so much to explore on Dartmoor, it makes a wonderful family day out. You can enjoy the unspoiled natural landscape for picnics, bike rides, dog walks or somewhere that the children can run free. Dartmoor has many wonderful natural and man-made attractions for you to visit during your stay. Dartmoor Zoo

Miniature Pony Center

Another favourite attraction is the Miniature Pony Center. On the edge of wild and magical Dartmoor in Devon is a hidden gem of all things small, cute and cuddly. This gem is called The Miniature Pony Center. Can you imagine being able to go into a paddock and to be surrounded by miniature ponies and tiny foals. The joy of being able to stroke and cuddle them is something to remember forever.

South Devon Railway

  The South Devon Railway is located in Buckfastleigh. It is a seven-mile steam railway running between Buckfastleigh and Totnes. It really is a beautiful and relaxing journey. Find out more: South Devon Railway

Parsonage Farm

Parsonage Farm has been farmed by the same family for nearly 100 years and is the farm around which the book War Horse by Michael Morpurgo was set, along with the parish of Iddesleigh. It was also once home to Revd John ‘Jack’ Russell, first breeder of the terriers to which he gives his name. Come and explore War Horse Valley – its farming history, its people and its Wartime stories and of course the place where the story of Joey and Albert was born.

Dartmoor Prison

In the Dartmoor Village of Princetown you will find Dartmoor Prison. Unlock the fascinating history of one of England’s most famous prisons, from the Napoleonic wars to the present day.Visit the Museum there to find out the fascinating history that the Prison holds.

Canon​teign Falls

  Canonteign Falls is the highest waterfall in England, it is surrounded with the natural beauty of woodlands and a wetland nature reserve. It truly is a beautiful location of breath-taking waterfalls, fern gardens and woodlands. Read more at www.canonteignfalls.co.uk
